Boost Your Academic Profile Online
| Description: | Harness online tools and maximise your visibility in the academic world If you're a graduate research student or early career researcher who wants to publish your work, or promote publications you already have under your belt for greater reach and impact, this session is for you. Two Faculty Librarians will discuss the benefits of using PURE, Altmetric Explorer, ORCID, Bluesky, and touch on Academic X (twitter) to maximise your visibility. They'll throw in a few best practice tips along the way. Here’s a brief overview of what you can expect:
PURE: A research information system that can help you manage your research outputs and increase their visibility.
Altmetric Explorer: A tool that tracks online attention and engagement of scholarly articles and other academic work.
ORCID: An open, non-profit, community-driven effort to create and maintain a registry of unique researcher identifiers and a transparent method of linking research activities and outputs to these identifiers.
Bluesky: An alternative to X and operates as a public conversation platform. It's gaining traction around the world.
Academic X (Twitter): A platform to share your research with a wider audience and engage with other researchers.
The session will not only discuss the benefits of these tools but also provide a great opportunity to learn how to promote your work effectively and reach out to the world. Don’t miss it!
