Knowing where to present and publish is critically important for Graduate Research students. Predatory outlets often mimic legitimate academic events and publications but lack genuine peer review, credible programme committees, and proper scholarly oversight.

Join our panel of experienced researchers:
  • Professor Alistair McCulloch and Dr. Matthew Rofe (Adelaide University), with recent research on the perils of predatory conferences
  • Alana Hadfield and Medwenna Buckland (Macquarie Research Librarians), with tips on identifying predatory journals.
At this session, expect to:
  • Learn how to identify predatory conferences
  • Discuss key aspects of predatory publishing
  • Share practical tools and strategies to avoid being caught in predatory traps.
A Zoom link will be emailed to all registrants the day before the session.
