Show Up and Write online every Tue & Sat

Description:

Lock in Locked some focused writing time on your thesis!

No need to register. All you have to do is Show-up and write!

Join some fellow research students and use your virtual co-presence to help focus, motivate, and commit to solid writing periods.

Whether in person or via a video call, having others visibly present helps model the behaviour that we want to ourselves to do. Social presence also provides gentle accountability.

How it works:

  • Say hi at the start, and if you like, share a writing goal that you're working on. Then simply start writing.
  • Keep your microphone off, but if it's ok, leave your camera on so that others can benefit from your presence, too.

We've currently set this session for every Tuesday and Saturday 10am-12pm, Sydney time.

To join the session, follow this link

Note. This session is not supervised by staff and is student-led. You will need to log in using your MQ log in.

Students are expected to respect the work of other students, and carry themselves in a way that is consisten with the Macquarie Student Charter. Any unwelcome behvaiour will be followed up by staff and reported for investigation.

Any questions, please email gr.development@mq.edu.au OR simply post in the MQ Graduate Researchers Online (Join the group here).
