Start your PhD Well: Professional communication in the research world

Description:

Build confidence in your professional communication capability.

This workshop will address a range of communication challenges related to communicating in the professional research world.

Learning outcomes:

  • Know where and where not to publish
  • Plan communication to specialist and non-specialist audiences and funders
  • Implement effective oral, written and online communication etiquette
  • Communicate and respond to reviewer feedback

A valuable element of this workshop is the participation of our Library Research team, who will prepare you to stay alert for authentically valuable conference paper and presentation opportunities and discern potential "predatory" conferences to avoid. This workshop provides a great opportunity for you to get to know these experts in a face to face environment.
