Graduate Research Peer Mentoring - Intro & Planning

Description:

Help build our growing Graduate Research community

three students sitting together on a grass lawn

Year-on-year, we welcome new researchers, and farewell our graduates. Our community includes people from across the globe. Maintaining that community takes students, not just staff, actively creating opportunities to connect deeply across our Schools and Faculties.

Graduate Research Peer Mentoring contributes to this community by providing a platform for you to extend your network, collaborate with like-minded students, support fellow students, and gain leadership skills in the process.

This meeting: A short online introduction to what the program is, the sorts of activities involved, and, planning the year's activities - yes, YOU get to have a say in the activities you do as part of the program.

Held online for flexibility. Register to receive the meeting link.

Agenda

  1. What mentoring is, and how this program applies it
  2. What's involved in being a Graduate Research Peer Mentor
  3. Benefits of being a Peer Mentor
  4. Planning activities for 2026 together

Who is this for?

Research students who are keen to develop their people skills, and who value a vibrant research community. We have roles for PhD students who have passed their Confirmation of Candidature, and MRes students or graduates, who can support Graduate Diploma students starting out on a research pathway.
