This HDR training session is designed to demonstrate how to use SciFinder as a research tool and gain invaluable scientific literacy skills!

In this session you will learn to:

  • Search and filter quickly and precisely to find content for literature reviews/ candidature reports/ thesis submission, including primary and secondary sources of information and IP documents
  • Use AI query interpretation and document summarisation tools to locate and evaluate information
  • Save, store and organise scientific information
  • Develop powerful structure searching techniques using the CAS Draw tool
  • Search for reactions by text and structure

Optional survey participation:

Based on the session content an optional survey will be run at the start and end of the session created by Monash University and the University of Sydney, as part of a study designed to gain critical insight into the information literacy skills of HDR students.
