Graduate Research Coaching Program - Introduction Workshop

Description:

As a graduate researcher, you need to develop a comprehensive set of skills that go beyond academic and disciplinary expertise. Unfortunately, many researchers miss out on crucial training in time management, goal setting, and maintaining high performance and momentum. That's where the Graduate Research Coaching Program (GRCP) comes in—it's designed to hone these essential skills and build productivity into your candidature.

The GRCP will run from March to June. Through the program, you'll establish a collaborative partnership with one of our GR coaches, all of whom hold a PhD and have received training as a coach. Our coaches will provide you with support, motivation, encouragement, empowerment, and if necessary, some gentle prodding. By the end of the program, you'll feel confident and back in control of your thesis, equipped with skills and strategies to make steady progress.

The criteria for participating in the research project are listed below:

  • currently enrolled in a PhD at Macquarie University
  • have progressed beyond your CoC
  • have not engaged in the GRCP within 12 months of their current iteration
  • estimated Work Submission (EWS) date falls after 1 September 2026
  • has signed approval from your principal supervisor to participate (info for supervisors is attached).
