Data Management Plan (DMP) for Human Research Ethics Application (HREA) walk through

This online session will walk through how to complete the Macquarie University Data Management Plan (DMP) section that is integrated into the end of High Risk (i.e. Greater than low risk) Human Research Ethics Applications (HREA).

Focus will be on the parts that have raised the most questions from researchers, and how to align Research Data Management (RDM) intentions with responses and statements across all parts of the HREA. Specifically, ensuring clear connection between selected Scope of Consent, the HREA’s ‘Data and Security’ section, your protocol, MQ’s DMP sections, and your participant information consent form (PICF).

The objective of the session is to help attendees:

-          Complete quality DMPs

-          Cleanly connect RDM statements across the HREA form

-          Understand how data reuse intention and data sensitivity can impact scope of consent and statements needed in the PICF.

WHO SHOULD ATTEND:

This session is geared towards any researcher completing a High Risk HREA, which has the integrated DMP section. However, anyone completing a HREA are welcome to attend as topics discussed can help improve RDM and DMP statements in any application.

PREREQUISITES:

You should have completed the Introduction to Human Research Ethics Training module, and it is recommended that you have completed the Research Data Management (RDM) Online training. Both are part of the Graduate Student Induction Unit and can be completed by Staff in WorkDay.
