3MT - Storytelling Your Thesis [Hybrid]
Description: |
Communicating your research to a non-specialist audience is a valuable skill that can help broaden the reach and impact of your research. However, it can be a challenge, distilling the essence of your research into a cohesive story using language that a non-specialist audience can understand. In this workshop we will discuss key components and considerations when communicating your research to non-specialist audiences, as well as explore the narrative of your own research. This workshop will be held on campus, but a zoom link will be provided for those who cannot come to the class (link will be shared the day before the workshop). Please indicate in the registration form (in a comment box) if you need to attend the workshop on Zoom. NB. This workshop will be preceeded (11:30am-12pm) by an information session on the 3-Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition – a competition that challenges GR students to present their research to a non-specialist audience within 3 min and with one static slide. If you are interested in attending the 3MT Info Session, please register separately.
