2021: HDR Writing Workshops: Every Research Article Is Written from the Basics: Paragraphs, Sentences, and Words

The workshops aim to foster better understanding in research communications and sharper writing performance for HDR students in social sciences or humanities. Each workshop is comprised of a short lecture, tasks and student interaction. MRes and PhD students are encouraged to attend all workshops or individual workshops in which they are interested. The topics and objectives of each workshop are provided below:

This workshop “Every Research Article Is Written from the Basics: Paragraphs, Sentences, and Words” sets the following objectives:

·         Creating good flow in a paragraph and between paragraphs,

·         Writing complex sentences with clarity,

·         Appropriate use of relative clauses,

·         Changing passive voice to active,

·         Making better choice of words.
