2021: ONLINE Science Writing for Publication Workshop Series. Workshop 2: Selecting the Journal

Description:

This workshop focuses on techniques on informing you to best select the journal to publish your research. The workshop is an introduction to Strategic Publishing and will be delivered by Research Librarians. It will cover:

  • How to choose outlets for publishing your research using the RV2 checklist.
  • How to use databases and other tools to answer your questions about the relevance and reputation of a journal or other publication venue that you are considering.
  • The importance of Researcher Profiles and benefits of Open Access to increase the visibility of your research.
  • How to publicise your research for greater impact.

This workshop forms part of the Scientific Writing for Publication Workshop Series that focuses on key topics and skills for writing science research articles. There are 10 different workshops that will be running throughout Session 2 (two each month) and you are welcome to enrol in all the workshops* or just those topics that are of interest. The aim of each workshop is to develop an understanding of writing practices in Science.

Each writing workshop will be held face to face and online via zoom. Please ensure you register for your preferred mode of delivery. All workshops will last about 2 hours and will include opportunities to discuss your writing and/or issues you have with your writing.

 

 

* you will be eligible for course certificate of completion once you attend all 10 workshops in the series.
