2021: Nearmap Information Session (high res aerial imagery and spatial products)

Description:

What is Nearmap?

Nearmap was founded with one goal; to empower all kinds of businesses and organisations, no matter what size or industry, with reliable aerial data. Up-to-date, richly detailed location information powers projects for our customers across the globe.  We mount our own camera technology onto planes to capture high resolution aerial imagery at a frequency un-paralleled in the industry, with metro areas captured at least 6 times per year and 90% of Australia’s population covered.  We also derive spatial information from that imagery, including machine learnt recognition capabilities.

The Agenda for the Seminar will cover:

- Show Nearmap's MapBrowser and its functionality

- Show the various content types, eg. 2D, 3D and Artificial Intelligence

- Common Integrations with external platforms

- Common industry use cases – these will be tailored based on survey feedback

- Questions

All answers are anonymous although we do ask what faculty they are from. The survey link is at: https://nearmap.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_8cSOhrazZBIFAsm

Currently MQ has a Nearmap - Educational License supported by Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences in FSE and MQ Properties (who are now endeavouring to secure licence renewal). If you would like to request the access to the Nearmap MapBrowser http://maps.au.nearmap.com/  prior to the seminar, please email Dr Michael Chang (michael.chang@mq.edu.au) by COB Tue 6 Apr.
