2021: HDR skills workshops: Delivering an oral presentation of research

Specifically focusing on the field of busines and economics, the workshops aim to foster effective knowledge in the constituting elements of the thesis or research article and cultivate writing skills for communicating research ideas at high standards. Each workshop is comprised of deconstruction of writing skills, analysis of illustrative texts extracted from top tier journals, and discussion. Newly commenced MRes (direct entry into Year 2) and PhD students are highly encouraged to enrol in all the workshops for development of a comprehensive know-how in scholarly writing. Or alternatively, you can choose to enrol in workshops interesting to you.

The workshop addresses the following topics:

• Academic audiences' expectations from research presentation 
• Prepare for an presentation of research 
• Keep good pace during presentation
• Interact with audience in the Q&A session
