2021: Survey Design and Practice Using Qualtrics

Description:

This workshop is designed to give participants an introduction to the practice of designing and implementing a survey for research purposes.

The workshop will be run in two halves:

PART 1 (two hours) of the workshop will be spent discussing the use of surveys in research, including strengths and limitations; design considerations; implementation and dissemination; implications for summarising and analysing data; and best practice.

PART 2 (two hours) will be spent hands on using the survey tool Qualtrics. With no Qualtrics knowledge assumed, the workshop will walk participants through how to design and administer a survey in Qualtrics.

Before the workshop

  • Prepare a draft of a survey to work on during the workshop.
  • Ensure you can access Qualtrics via https://surveys.mq.edu.au using your OneID. Contact OneHelp for technical assistance.

This workshop will be delivered via Zoom, details for which will be provided to attendees closer to the date. Please ensure you have two large screens (either a computer with an external monitor, or two devices with large screens), so you can see the presenter's demonstration on one screen and work on your own survey on the other screen
