2020: Uncertain times - practical steps to increase employment opportunities

Description:

Please note: Zoom link will be provided to those who register on MyRDC

Employment opportunities are shrinking and it is natural to feel powerless in these uncertain times. It is more important than ever to be pro-active.

If the competition is high then you need to develop strategies to increase your employability and to be noticed. Building positive relationships and expanding your networks are some of the best actions that you can take right now. You also need to undertake an audit of your skills and strengths and understand how these can be translated for different employers. When it is an employers' market you need to undertand what you can do for them and know how to clearly communicate those messages to them.

In this workshop we will talk about how to identify your strengths and skills, identify areas of interest (in relation to employment), understand your worth and how to build positive relationships, look after your reputation and expand your networks to increase your employment opportunities in a competitive environment. There will be no easy answers or prescription for success - all of these strategies take time and work. Others have done it successfully, though.

What to bring: an open and prepared mind.
