2020: Workshop: Developing your 5-Year Research Plan
Description: |
You are invited to join Dr Johannes (John) Dumay who is running 6 workshops on Developing your 5-Year Research Plan. These begin on Thursday 28th May at 3.00pm and will run every two weeks. Week 5: Writing structure using IDEALS: I present a basic recipe for structuring an academic article in the social sciences that I develop based on research examining the attributes of articles published in high ranking accounting journals. Once I establish the recipe for the paper’s structure, I demonstrate how different sections use different forms of reasoning. I next demonstrate how to write argumentative paragraphs, which are the core means for expressing critical research.
