Research Integrity for Early Career Researchers

Description:

Research Integrity = just common sense - Right?

As an Early Career Researcher you are likely come head to head with issues concerning authorship, dodgy data, conflicts of interest or the fall-outs from research collaborations breaking down. Knowing what to do to mitigate against these will save you emotional stress, time and money while maintaining your reputation and the credibility of your research.

This session, run by the MQ Research Integrity team, will help you navigate your way through what has been described as the “mundane regular misbehaviours” in research (Martinsen et al 2005, Naturethat can influence the work of a significant number of researchers and have immense potential consequences.

Referencing the Macquarie University Code for the Responsible Conduct of Research, this session will explore how to discourage or prohibit these behaviours, as well as how to deal with instances of these behaviours occurring in your research team.

This session will put you on the front foot to recognise and deal with behaviours before they escalate to more serious issues of misconduct. This is essential to every ECRs toolkit!
