2020: Tailoring applications to suit the job (HDR)

Description:

Tailoring applications to suit the job - creating effective CVs/resumes and selection criteria responses requires focus, preparation and time.

This workshop will assist participants to develop an understanding of what is needed in a job application in order to make a positive impact.  

The aim will be to work as a group to critically analyse job ads/descriptions and how to  tailor job applications - selection criteria responses, cobver letters, CVs/resumes with a focus on employer/organisational needs.

Participants will:

·         Reflect upon current and previous experiences to understand the value of individual skills and strengths as well as contributions made to achievements within team situations.

·         Understand the need to be able to tell stories using the STARL method

·         Analyse a job advertisement and research an employer to gain a clearer understanding of their needs

·         Analyse CV/resume and previous job applications and/or begin the process of developing a CV/resume for a particular role.
